GENERAL FARMING NEWS.
The cold soiith-eastcily weather whicli has lasted just on a week with hardly :a break lias been hard on tho stock in tho Carterton district (says tho "News"). Tho ground has become very wet, and feed is becoming short in consequence of being 'trodden .in. Farmers are feeding their \stock, and several liavo already sent their animals away into winter pastures. Tho Nireaha branch of tho Farmers' Union is urging the erection of a public sheep dip adjoining tho Ekctaliuua stileyards. A considerable area of low-lying country in tho Masterton district is under water, as" the result of the rain which has fallen for some days. Stock aro feeling the cold vory much. Tho ground has become vory wet, and feed is short in consequence of being trodden in. Farmers. are giving hard feed to their stock, and, in. some'cases, dairy-farmers have already sent their stock into winter pastures. The "Richmond" host answers the question as to which Oil Engine to purchase. All tho good things we can say ot it .ire backed up by hundreds of users.
