TASMANIAN POLITICAL SITUATION
s A QUESTION IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright London, May 4. In the House of Commons, Mr. Arthur Lynch (Nationalist) questioned Mr. Lewis Harcourt (Secretary of Stato for tho Colonies) regarding tho Tasmanian political situation. Mr. Lynch suggested that an important document had been withheld; and he asked whether Sir W. G. EllisonMacartney, . tho Governor of Tasmania, had marked his official communication "Confidential." Mr.' Harcourt', in reply, said the documents had not yot arrived.' Ho had no reason to suppose that when received they would not place him in full rjossession of 'the facts. He had no information regarding Sir W. G. Elli-son-Macartney's alleged action. He had been in telegraphic communication with Sir W. G. Ellison-Macartney, hut with nobody, else.
