DEATH OF A CHINESE. An aged Chinese named Fong Tin was found dead in bed at his houso, No. 38 Frederick. Street, yesterday morning. Heart failure is supposed to havo been tho cause of death. Deceased was recently attendod by a medical man, who will probably give a oertiiioato as to the cause of deatli. CAUGHT IN A. CRUSHER. (By Teleeraph.—Press Association.) Whangarei, April 11. A young man named Ashby Crawford, aged twouty-tliree years, son of a settlor in the Maungakaramea district, was fatally injured while working at a stonecrusher at Moowhare on Thursday afternoon last. The deceased was fmyid lying on the ground in a dying condition with terriblo injuries to his head. It is surmised ho was caught in the belting of the crusher and dragged into the machinery.- . ■ I FISHERMAN'S DEATH.

GUNS & WIRE FENCES. Auckland, April 12. ■•• The Auckland police'have received information that' a man named Mawsbn was accidentally shot at Patamohe on Saturday. He got separated from his fellow shootists, who later found him entangled in a wire fence ;with a. severo wound in- the head and his gun lying beside.him. ~ MINING STUDENT'S DEATH. Dunedin, April 12. Horace Kirkland, 27 years of age, and a mining student, wa3 found dead in bod at his mother's.residence, District Road. Roslyn, this- morning. Hβ returned from Stewart Island yesterday, apparently in good health, and seemed all right la-to last night. He was attended by a doctor about two years ago for pains in the chest.
SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, April 12. ■ A married man named George Henry Devlin, a painter, aged 32 years, residing in Maitland' Street, died suddenly about 8 p.m. on Saturday. ; He had complained of internal pains lately, but liad not consulted a doctor. He went to bed last evening, and, as he got worse, a doctor was called' in, but ho died on. the doctor's arrival. UPPER HUTT DISASTER, The condition of Mr. Virgil M'Govorn, who was seriously injured in tho Upper Hutt explosion a fortnight ago, is reported from th» Hospital to be less favourable.
