EASTER SERVICES

ANGLICAN CHURCHES. Easter services wero hold throughout tlio day at St. Paul's Anglican ProCathedral, Mulgravo Street, and wero all largely attended. Tlio Rev. A. M. Johnson preached in tho morning, while at the evening servico the preaciior whs the Rev. Canon Garland. At St. Peter's, Willis Street, services wore held at b'.lo a.m., 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 10.15 a.m., and 11 a.m., and also in the evening. At tho evening sorvico thcro was a large congregation, and a foatnro was a very fine rendering of the "Hallelujah Chorus"' by tho choir. Dr. Fyffo was organist.' Tho church was specially decorated. Similar services wero held at St. Mark's' Church. ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCHES. At St. Mary of the Angels' Ohuroh, Boulcott Street, there was a large number of communicants at early Masses, while at 11 o'clock Solemn High Mass was said, tho Very Rev. Dean Kcgnault being tie celebrant. In the evening the men's branch of the Sacred Heart Society mot, and it was one of tho largest meetings of the society over held in the church. The Rev. Father Kimbell preached on the Gospel of tho day Easter services wero also held in tho other Roman Catholic Churches of the city.

PRESBYTERIAN. Easter was observed at St. John's Church, Willis Street, by special services, both morning and evening. _ The Rev. Dr. Gibb' occupied the pulpit on ■both occasions. The music rendered by the choir for the day—both anthems and hymns—was appropriate. SALVATION ARMY. Special Easter services were conducted at the Salvation Army Citadel by Adjutant and Mrs. Carter, who have recently arrived from India. At 11 o'clock .a holiness meeting was held 1 , and at 3 p.m. soldiers wero enrolled. In tho evening a big meeting was held at tho Citadel. Similar services ,were hold at the South Wellington Hall. Easter services were also conducted at a number of other churches throughout the city..
