INCOME OF THE JUBILEE FUND. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) Duncdin, April 8. 'At tlio Presbyterian Synod to-day, tho question as to what body has control of the income of the Jubileo Fund, and for what purposes it must bo expended, was discussed at great length. Tlio clerk of tlio Presbytery submitted tlio legal opinion of Messrs. Downie Stewart and Payne, who bad been asked to advise on the matter. It was resolved that this opinion bo sent to the trustees in "Wellington, with an intimation that tho Revs. .1. Kilpatrick and K, Mackic would bo in Wellington next week, and would have authority to confer with tlio trustees if tho latter wished it. It was also resolved that as tlio legal opinion •that tho resolutions passed by the Synod, .it or about the timo whon tho fund was cstahlislied, defined tlio trusts on which tho fund was to bo held, tho ofTect of these resolutions was to provido that tho fund was to be used for Church etfonsioti purposes in Otago and Southland ; also that in tho event of no reply or an unsatisfactory reply being obtained a committee bo appointed to brine the whole matter boforo tho General AsSeT \ motion in favour of Bible-in-schools, jind urging that 'a referendum on the question bo taken, was carried.
