THE BENEFIT- FUND CAMPAIGN. In connection -with the fund for the relief, of sufferers by the Upper Hutt disaster, the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) has called a meeting of citizens, to be held in tho Mayor's Room this evening, to consider what shall be done to further the object jn view. On Saturday afternoon the BrennanFuller management generously gave a matinee benefit performance in aid of the sufferers by the Upix>r Hutt disas-ter-of a week ago. A capital programme was provided by the very cgpn6lo company now at,, IJis Majesty's, and was thoroughly appreciated by all present. The matinee resulted in the sum of'£27 2s. being handed over to the fund now being raised in the city and suburbs.
