NAVAL SUPREMACY
— FOR BRITAR MEASURES TO MAINTAIN IT. BUSINESS MEN OFFER SUPPORT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, February 9. At a meeting of bankers, merchants, and business men at the Guildhall, including Lords Somerset, Southwark, and Aldenhain, Admiral Sir E. Fremantle, and the masters of most of the city companies, a resolution was passed assuring support to any measures tho Government considered necessary for tho supremacy of tho Navy and the adequate protection of trade routes. The Lord Mayor, who presided, pointed out that the meeting was not political. The Hon. T. Mackenzie, High Commissioner representing New Zealand, said! that New Zealand was not yet competent to do all tliat was n< u-Esary for tho safety in transport of its produce, but was prepared to do its share.
