THE NEW ZEALAND 'DISPLAY. At a meeting of the Industrial Association last evening correspondence wasreceived from the Secretary'for Agriculture (Mr.' F. S.. Pope) relating to the New Zealand exhibit at the Panama Exhibition, and inviting, the president (Mr. Norwood) to becomo a member of the Jooil committee to. assist jii preparing the exhibit. A conference of the local; committee with .the Prime Minister is to be held on February 26. There was a general discussion on the possibilities of good following a display of New Zealand products at the Exhilition. All the members of fho committee agreed, that,it would, be quite absurd for New Zealand manufacturers to exhibit at San Francisco, 1 with the idea of- getting business thereby. It would, however, advertise our country if there was a good displav of our primary products for which there was a demand in America.' One. suggestion that: found general favour was' that .there! should bo a man employed at the exhibit whose duty it would be at certain of the : day, to show 1 people over, the exhibit and Wture to them" oil New Zealand and. )n the. display. , Mr. J V . B. Laurynson_.said that ; tlie only quite might' interest .'America and . induce capital to comfe here, would be the development of our' iron deposits." '■ It; might; be good : policy for the Government, to. send'to, the exhibition eotne-samples of Parapara ore and.Taranaki ironsand.
