A bottle was picked up on tho Tewah Beach containing a message dated July 16, 1912, and signed by tho captain, staling that the German barque Nomia was in a hurricane 42deg. south and 160deg. cast. The message concluded: "Gott save me." The Nomia disappeared during a voyage from Newcastle to the west coast of America, and was posted as missing eight months ago. A bottlo was subsequently picked up on the New Zealand coast.
