The root; crops for winter and spring feeding aro just now giving every promise or' exceptionally heavy yields.. The harvesting of. tho early-sown oat crops has commenced in the Balclutha, Clinton, Brydone, Edendalo, and Nightcaps districts, but the great bulk of tho: oat crops-in Southland are still quite green,' and in many instances they aro short in the straw aiity uneven. .There are many good crops to ho seen, and those that.aro still green will grow/a lot yet, but -the all-roun davcrage yield per aero, for Southland this season will be a long: but the all-round average yield per aero for Canterbury.
