A GREAT SUCCESS. FINB WEATHER AND GOOD ENTRIES . (By TOlopraph.—Special OorresoondonU. Pahiatua, January 28. The Bush'Districts''A.< and P. Association's 22nd show was held on the Woodville Racecourse to-day in glorious wea-. ther. The show was a great success and a great improvement on the past two years. Tho gathering was estimated at fully 2000 people. Between £M and £70 was taken.at the gate. The entries totalled 550, which is considerably in advance of last year's total. The principal featuro of the show was- the liiotor-bicyelo race, ten laps Tonnd the course.. The event was accomplished in JOmin. 37sec. by A.' Bruce, of Falmerston North. . H. Collinson, who rode a plucky race, last ground in tho last lap through a slight mishap to his machine. The raco caused inbenso excitement, being the first witnessed in Woodville. No spills occurred. Tho competitions were, also well contested, the principal event, the hunters' leaping, being won by Mr. W. Howard Booth's Hikorangi, while Mr. H. Hassall's Micky Free, ridden' by Miss Macniven, was awarded the red ticket .in tho ladif/i' .'leaping competition]. i Mr. W. H. Gaisford's The Joker, ridden by Miss Bolton, received a similar award in the lady's hack event. Entries for various classes on tho programme were drawn from tho Wfiirarapa, Manawatu, Hawke's Bay, and Pahiatua districts. In cattle, Holsteins were poorly represented, but there was good competition in Ayrshire;;, Jerseys, and Dairy classes.. Tho last-named was; especially good. In sheep tho fat classes wero well tilled and thero was also very good competition in Lincolns. Mr. Henry Gaisiord, .Oringi, being tho< principal, prizewinner. - In Romueys, Mr.'"W. B.
