BOARD OF AGRICULTURE.
ELECTING MEMBERS. On Friday, February 13,' thero will ho held at tlio offices of. the-Manawatu A. and P. Association, Palmerston North, a meeting of delegates from A. and P. Societies, whose business will be tho election of n representative on tho Board of Agriculture, which is being set up under.the Act passed last session. Eight members of the board are to be chosen by tho A. and P. Societies —four members from each island. The regulations provide for the division of each island into four districts, from tho societies of which districts a recommendation is asked. One society, called for distinguishing purposes, tho Metropolitan Society, is selcctedlih.leach'.' district' to take the initiative in, securing a recommendation for tho appointment of a representative ,of all the societies in. that district. The.meotinE must be held not later than February 21. The number of delegates every .society may send is regulated by the following . scale:—4oo financial members or under, 1: 400 to 800. 2j' 800 to 1200, 3; and 1200, 4. The Horowhenua Association will probably be represented at the Palmerston North meeting by its president, Mr. John Kebbcll.
The headquarters of tho Metropolitan Associations in the eight districts are at Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Hastings, Auckland, Nelson.. Christchurch, Dunediii, and Invcrcargill.
