THE MAYORALTY.
At a spccial meeting of the Wellington Branch of the United Labour Party last- night, tho question of selecting a candidate to contest the Mayoralty in April next was considered. Mr. D. M'Lareii, formerly Mayor of the city, was chosen as a candidate,_ No other member of the party opposed Mr. M'Lnrcn for the right to represent tho party. An organising committee was set up to mako the arrangements for tho campaign, and a considerable sum of money was subscribed in tho meeting-room towards meeting the initial expenses.
