TO-NIGHT'S ORGAN RECITAL.
Mr. Bernard F. Page will resume liis series of popular organ recitals on the Town Hall organ to-night. It is anticipated tlmt citizens will take advantage of tlio lino programme of organ music which will be submitted by the city organist at liis Saturday ovoning recitals. Two choral improvisations by Karg-Elort will bo playctl to-night, and Mendelssohn's overture, "Tlio Hebrides," which is the outcomo of a visit Mendelssohn- paid to Scotland in 1829, should provo to be a musical treat, as this work is supposed to be one of tlio finest orchestral piecos the composer wrote, and waslooked upon by Wagner as the"masterpiece of .Mendelssohn. A fantaisio by Saint-Saens, which is new to Wellington, is a work which opens with a very beautiful melody, which is afterwards worked out to some considerable length. Other compositions to be performed are a fugue (Schumann), "Summer Sketches" (f/cmare), and s reverie by Sih er. The usual prices are being charged.
