ONE ROUND COSTS HIM £10 16s. (By Telegraph.—Proß3 Association.) . Auckland, January 23. . On the evening of December .il, on the 'Auckland, Showgrounds, a showman namecl ;,Wm.- M'Lood, described as one of the best shots in tlm world, bad nil altercation with another showman named Oxenham, wit-h_ whom he had remonstrated because of tho letter's use of bad language in the hearing of women. When Oxenham walked away a bullet sang over his head, and M'Lcod .was charged, in Court to-day (after the caso had been remanded several times) with discharging a firearm with intent to do. bodily harm. . Accused claimed that ho had not fired at Oxenham, but that a cartridge had jammed in the rillo which he was cleaning and ho fired it off. After hearing evidence the charge was amended to discharging lirearms in a public place, and accnscd was convicted and ordered to pay £10 16s. costs.
