0 (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, January 21. The orchids and orchid house of Mr. John Jarvis, a local enthusiast, have been presented to the town. Tho collection is a valuable one, comprising 150 varieties, and is the result of many years' collecting. It is intended to place them at the Esplanado Gardens, and to increase tho collection till it rivals Dunedin's.
