. The first meeting for tho new year of the Karori Borough Council was hekl last night. There wero present; Tho Mayor (Mr. C. Cathie), and Councillors .Burn,' Bradnoclc, Davis, Hamilton, Lower, Henderson, Skeggj. and Cimino. The Tramway Committee reported . that it was too early as jjet to makq any suggestions as to coping with. a'i>y" opposition' likely, to arise 'tlirongh tho running of motor buses in Karori. On tho recommendation of'the Kecre-. ation Grounds Committee it was decided to accede to tho requests of the Brooklyn Presbyterian and Aro".Street. Sunday Schools for permission to usp tho Karori Park on Anniversary Day. The applications of throe ratepayer's for minor works to- bo carried out Were, on the recommendation of tho Works ■Committee, granted. It was decided to impose an additional 10 per cent, penalty on all overduo rates. • . , "One of tho shortest meetings we have liad, gentlemen," 'remarked the Mayor at tho conclusion of the meeting;, which' was barely half an hour in duration.
