LAND PURCHASES. ; ■ In- connection with the establishment of-a branch of the Port Sunlight soap works at l'ctoue, Messrs. Lever Bros, some little timo ago acquired nearly four acres c»f land on tho western side of tho railway line. The firm has since secured an additional two acres, tho land having been purchased from Messrs. Prico ;'ind Co., who at on® time controlled' a sawmilling business on tho Hutt Hoad, The land, "which at tho present time contains two cottages, will probably require to bo excavated somewhat before building operations aro commenced. It is anticipated that a start will bo mado almost immediately upon tlio_ return of Mr. W. Turnbull, tho architect, from Sydney.:-
