HAWKE'S BAY & POVERTY BAY
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Cisborno, January 2. The representative match between Hawko's Bay and Poverty Bay commenced at tho Taruheru ground this morning. Hawko's Bay, butting two men short, scored 103 in tho first innings, Multon, Spackman, and Clark being the only men to make a stand, Kahlenberg, the express Poverty Bay bowler, secured fivo wickets for 29. Poverty Bay fared even worse than the visitors, being all dismissed for The Gisborne men could do nothing with the bowling of Napior; of Hastings, who secured eight wickets for 35. In tho second innings, at tlio call-of timoHawke's Bay had' lost: eight wickets • for 142; Board. (4S)!a'nd.Lusk (5&) alone'scoring double figures. Both played fine cricket; Goddis and Campbell missed the Takapuna at Napier on Thursday night, but will arrive to-morrow morning, and will bat in Hawko's Bay, second innings.
