"Wellington required one run to win when time'was called. Tho Canterbury captain would not agree to play on, and the match was consequently drawn. The scores were —Canterbury, first innings, 242 (Watson 91, Norman 95); second innings, IS3 (M'Farlane 41, 'Skcltoii 31). Wellington, first innings, 34G; 6econd innings, 59 for two wickets, when timo was called.
