Prempeh watched the sacrifice whilo seated in a chair sheltered by' an umbrella, bis Queen being seated on a stool on his left.
In 1891 Premneh was installed King of Ashanti. Accwed of promoting slavo trade, human sacrifices, attacking friendly tribes, and obstructug commerce, a firitish ultimatum was s«nt to lum after warnings had failed. The ultimatum was followed by a British military expedition under Sir" Francis Scott, which entered Kumasi.
