OFFICERS SHOT DOWN.
By Tolceraph—Prem Associatlon-Copyi'irhi _ Peking, Dccembor 29. regiments of soldiers revolted at ialifu, in tho province cf Yunnan, on December 8. They shot down their officers and declared for independence in tho name of oun Yat Sen. The rebels terrorised the district, and many woro_ killed and wounded, including a professor and several students, out foreigners were protected. A fortnight later tho Royalists recaptured Talifu, and burnt tho rebel leader.
