CONTEST FOR PBTONE GROUNDS. The question of the .allocation fii. tho grounds' to the football bodies is now an animal topic of discussion in tho Petoiio Porough Cnuueil, and it camo before tho council at its roteting onco again on Momlav, when certain recommendations as to the allocation of tho much-sought-after grounds were made by the. Heserves Committee; The third recommendation leaves it open to Rugby and League bodies to contest tho matter by tender. The recommendations were;— "(P) That. St, David's Association ■ Football Club be granted the use of No. 4 ground' for the ensuing season upon tho same terms and conditions as obtained last year. (2) That the Potomr Association Club bo granted the use of a eVound over the step-bank at a rental" of £5. (3) That applications be invited for a lease of throe or five years of grounds Nos. 1, 2, and 3. Tho rental to ho either on a percentage, with a minimum guarantee of £100 per season basis] or a lump sum per season. Tn the event of a percentage rental being areoplod, the successful applicant to be iemiived to find bonds in two approved sureties for £100 for cnoli war of.lease. (4) That the engineer he 'instructed to put tho grounds over the stop-bank in flood condition, by topdropsing or otherwise, for the coming football season. (■>) That a dressingshed with shower-baths be erected at a cost not exceeding £50." • Councillor Anderson moved an amendment to the third recommendation that f! rounds 1 and 2 he allotted to the Rugby Union, and Ground 3 to the League Union. His amendment, however, was lost on tho voices, and the original proposal, together with the four others, carried.
