"THE GAME IS UP."

THE UNHAPPY STRIKE MINGS.

HOOTS & 800-HOOS,

THE DUNEDIN SEAMEN TIRED. _ That the members of the old Wateraiders' Union arc not a happy family was mado apparent by yesterday's meeting in the Vivian Street Skating Rink. Outsiders were, of course, not admitted, but everyone who passed along tlio street knew that pretty serious trouble was brewing. Storms of hoots and boo-hoos broko out at frequent intervals, and it was quite evident that someone was having a particularly bad time: Tho "solidarity" of the strikers is not at all what tho strike-stccrers say it is, and there aro many members of tho old union who aro not particular about giving away a. secret or two. From these it is learned that considerable stn'fo has arisen between two prominent* officials of tho union, and tho names they call each other at the meetings aro moro emphatic than polite. It is stated that one official has repeatedly told the union that the "game is up," and that tho sooner they confess themselves beaten tho better. The incrcasiiijjl.v largo number of strikers seeking work on tho wharves show that tho rank and file have lost all confidence in their leaders.
