The Legislative Council sat at 2.30 p.m. The Education Amendment Bill, the Railways Construction and Land Amendment Bill, tho Stamp Duties Amendment Bill, the Fruit Preserving Industry Bill, the Wanganui School Sites Amendment Bill, the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment, tho Counties Amendment Bill, the Police Offences Amendment Bill, tho Judicature Amendment Bill, the Education *to serves Amendment Bill, and tho Distress and Replevin Amendment Bill wore received from tho Houso of Representatives, and read a first timo. The Counties Amendment Bill, • Ihe Judicature Amendment Bill, and th« Polico Offences Amendment Bill wero read a second time pro .forma, and referred to tho Statutes Revision Committee. Making a statement as to tho course of business, the Hon. If. D. Bell said that he saw no reason why tlio business of Parliament should not bo concluded by Saturday week. ' The Council rose at 3.20 p.m.
