Tho House of Representatives mot at 2.30 p.m. Tho PRIME MINISTER gave notice to introduce the Labour Dispute Investigation Bill. APIARIES BILL. Tho Apiaries Act Amendment Bill was introduced by Governor's Message. The PRIME MINISTER said that tho Bill was introduced in accordance with a request made by the Beekeepers' Conference, which met sonic time ago, and suggested a number of amendments. It was not intended to proceed with the Bill this session, bur, to refer it to tho Agricultural and Sto-jk Committee, in order that necessary inquiries might be made. Tho Bill was read a first time, and referred to tho Committee mentioned. INDUSTRIAL ARBITRATION BILL. Mr. J. 11. BRADNEY, on behalf of tiio Labour Bills Committee, reported that it had considered tho Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill, and recommended that only Part VI (dealing with strikes and lockouts affecting unions not bound by awards or industrial agreements), and Sections 151, 15S, and 105 of Part VII (dealing with voluntary agreements, etc.) should be proceeded with. Mr. Witty: Why not thf whole Bill? Mr. Ilraducy: Owing to the delay that has ta!;."ii' place this session, it hii been impossible for the Labour BiMs Committer- to go through a lengthy Bill like this in tho time allotted. The report was laid on the table. QUESTIONS PASSED BY. An opportunity was afforded of_ discussing Ministerial replies to questions, but no one took advantage of it.
