According to widely garnered statements thero is a good deal of intimidation -which will not long be brooked. If the men who have had the monopoly of tlio waterfront work do not embrace tho chttnce by Wednesday, sufficient labour will be brought in to work the port under normal conditions. The Wharf' Hotel anil tlio Terminus Hot-el wero opened again to-day, Superintendent Dvryor being of opinion that tho quietness at the waterfront justified relaxing tho order to close. It is understood that seamen and. firemen are, at liberty to ship if desire to do so, but tlio men say individually that they are not inclined to incur the odium and run tho risk that this Would involve. About 350 volunteers have enrolled in Dnnedin as special constables. So far they have not been required.
