BARRETT'S HOTEL CLOSED.
TUMULT FEARED. ; Yesterday; morning the following notice was served upon- Mr. D. Dalton, licensee of Barrett's Hotel (where a special constable'was injured oh Monday), requiring him to close his premises for the day:— . "in the matter of the Licensing Act, 1908. ', "To David Dalton, licensee of tho Barrett's Hotel, of LambtonQuay, Wellington. '■■_.' "Whereas a tumult is expected to happen at or near, tho licensed premises kept by you, known as Barrett's Hotel, situated in Lambtou Quay,'in the city of Wellington; how we, the ed, being two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for New Zealand, do hereby, in • pursuance of the powers , vested in us in that behalf, order you to close the said licensed premises from 10 o'clock a.m. on tho 18th day of November, 1913, until 10 o'clock p.m. of the same day. ,-,,„• "Given under our hands at Wellington .this 18th day of November, 1913..
