A deputation of sixty-five Suffragistß waited on Presidont Wilson demanding that the President should make woman suffrage a national question. They also asked for the appointment of a committee to push forward an amendment to the law now pending before the Senate. The President stated that the question of the appointmont of a _ House Committee to press the question forward was about to bo decided. : VIOLENT SUFFRAGETTES SENT TO PRISON. London, November 17, In connection with the scene in tho Police Court wheu the Suffragette Rachel Pearce was sentenced for setting fire Jo a house, four of those arrested have been sontenced to a month's imprisonment. ■..-. Catherine Jones, for throwing a hammer at Mr. Justice Lawrence, the presiding Judge, was sentenced''to. two months' imprisonment.
