(By Telegraph—Prees Aebo elation.) Invercargill, November 17. The band contest opened to-day with good attendances at each session. The following are the results:— B flat bass—C. Bartlet (Bth Regiment, Invercargill). 43. 1; .S. Dale (Bluff), 38, 2. Doubles B Plat, Bass—J. J. Collins (2nd Regiment, Timaru), 44, 1; R. Brown (Dominion, Invercargill), 43}, 2; A. Eraser (Kaikorai), 43, 3. B Flat Comet—E. Sullivan (Lyttelton Marine), 43, 1; W. H. Osborne (Timaru), 42, 2; J. Humphries (Dominion), 41, 3. In the B grade selection, "The Martyrs," 16th Regimental (Oamaru), Hibernian (Invercargill), Bluff, and Mataura played, and the final will be played to-morrow. • '
