THE STRIKE COMMITTEE.
(By Telejrraph.-Press Association.) Auckland, November 14. . "There , is not the slightest doubt," said the chairman of tho Central Strike Committee, in .the presenco of his fellowcommitteemen this morning, that these statements about the number of men at work on tho waterfront and with tho City , Council aro absolute fallacies. There never have b'eei 400 men hack with tho City Council, and it is hardly likely that anything like that number intend to go back. "So far as conditions on the waterfront are concerned, the Strike Committee states that from reliable information received they can say that everything is at sixes and sevens there, that' thero are forty men working, and about 150 "looking on." The position of tho timber workers is stated to bq just tho same as it was when tho men camo out. At a. meeting hold this morning thero woro 300 members of the Timber Workers' Union present, and they woro still "as etauncli and as loyal as over."
