Auckland, November 14. Tho president of tho Master Carriers' Association (Mr. George Winstene) informed a reporter this morning that between 90 and 100 vehicles were being ran by tho carrying firms of tho city on tho waterfront and in other parts of tho city this morning. He said that in addition to 47 volunteer carters put on by tho association during the past day or two somo of the regular hands wcro coming back to work. Of these his own firm had secured 14, another big firm had 13, and others' were getting their drivers in twos and threes. As more returned tho carriers would bring back additional horses from pasturo and so provide more, vehicles for tho work of the city. A largo number of horses and carting vehicles aro kept on the Queen's Wharf overnight behind tho shelter of tho barricades and Tinder tho guard of special police sentries. Several of the master carriers had their stables patrolled last night and this morning for tho first timo, tho idea being to counteract the efforts of pickets to dissuade regular hands against returning.
