Robertson made a charge against tho Government, under- cover of a question of having enrolled, transported, and maintained meri as free labourers at the cost of tlje taxpayers in order to assist tho shipping monopoly to smash a workers' organisation. Yesterday tl.ie Hon. W. lj\ Massey gave the following reply to the question: "The statement that tlie Government have enrolled, transported, and maintained molt as free labourers at tho cost of the taxpayers is Hot correct, and should not have been made even by way of implication."
