Did a jnomlior of the Government fir-' gnpiso a union composed of special police? This was the burden of a question recently askpd in! the House of Representatives. Yesterday tlie Minister of Justice (the lion. A- L. Herdman) replied to tho question kt the following terms; "No member of the Government has taken any part in trim organisation or registration of a union composed of special police or others."
No Staff Officers of the Territorial Forces aro in command of special constables in Wellington. This was stated by the Minister of Justice (the Hon.' A. L. Hordman) in reply to a further question, The Government has m> information as to the number of Territorials whose ■ sorvieos lijeiato heeri accepted »B special constables.
