SIR J. MILLS'S OPINION.
FEDERATION COURTS DEFEAT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, November 11. Sir James Mills, managing director of the Union Steam Ship Company, returned from Christcliurcli last night. Interviewed, lie said the Federation of Labour was beginning to find that the interests of the producers and transport companies were necessarily bound up, and in attacking one thoy had attacked the lot. .Witli tlie whole country arrayed against them the Federation was courting defeat. So far as the Union Steam Ship Company was concerned, a feature was the loyal way in which the officers had stood by them, making it possible to resume the interrupted ferry service,' the Pateonn. and Mapourika being largely manned by officers and engineers.
