DEFENCE COMMITTEE.
WIDER SCOPE & CHANGED NAME. Having now enlarged its scope, the Wellington Citizens' Defence Committee has changed its name. It will in future be known as the Employers', Farmers, and Citizens' Defence Committee. At its meeting yesterday the president of the Farmers' Union was added to the committee, and was authorised to act for tho Farmers' Union. This body .cf'iivej'ed the following resolution to the Defence Committee:— "That the Advisory Committee of tho New Zealand Farmers' Union has -the fullest confidence in the .Wellington Citizens' Defence Committee which is dealing with the present strike, and in its policy, and has no doubt whatever that it will be carried to a successful issue.'-'
