BUTCHERS CONFER.
NO INTENTION OF STRIKING,
Members of the Butchers' Union held a meeting last evening. to consider matters in connection with the strike. It is understood that the union decided to contribute to the strike funds, but that the butchers h.avo no intention of themselves coming out on strike, Thoir trade is one of those to which the special penalty clauses of tho Industrial Conciliation ' and Arbitration Amendment Act of 1908 apply. Any person employed in the trade who strikes without giving 14 days' notice Within a month of so doing is liable on conviction to a fine nob exceeding £25.
