isations. Not desiring violence or bloodshed, we consider that this will be the most effectivo means of coping with tho position. Members of the Bootmakers Union have pledged themselves to boycott ' firms and shopkeepers who allow employees to do special police work, and, furthor, to do their utmost to prevent their families being victimised by men who are talcing advantage of, tho present Situation to raise tho prices of household commodities. Tho Harbour Board employees have resolved to "down tools" on tie introduction of free labour or special police on tho waterfront, and to place themselves unreservedly in the hands of tho strike committee. Tho Painters' Union executive supports the action of fellow-workers now on strike throughout tlio Dominion, and urgeß all fellow-membors to cease work on receipt I of information that cargo is being handled by. free labour.
