STRIKE MANIFESTO.
ALLEGED GENERAL SUPPORT. (By TeleKTaiih—Press Association.) Auckland, November 7. ' The latest manifesto issued by tho strike committeo calls, for a general atriko tho moment that special constables appear on tho waterfront. Tho manifesto refors in strong language to tho invasion of mounted special constables, and continues: "As a protest wo call upon alt workers of Auckland, organised and unorganised labour, male and female, to cease work immediately on the introduction of special police to our wharves, thus emulating the load given by the tramway men, tho carters, Exhibition workers, seamen, and general labourers, and, acting in accordance with tho spirit of the engine-drivers, bricklayers, sheet and .metal workers, grocers, and many other kindred orgjm-
isations. Not desiring violence or bloodshed, we consider that this will be the most effectivo means of coping with tho position. Members of the Bootmakers Union have pledged themselves to boycott ' firms and shopkeepers who allow employees to do special police work, and, furthor, to do their utmost to prevent their families being victimised by men who are talcing advantage of, tho present Situation to raise tho prices of household commodities. Tho Harbour Board employees have resolved to "down tools" on tie introduction of free labour or special police on tho waterfront, and to place themselves unreservedly in the hands of tho strike committee. Tho Painters' Union executive supports the action of fellow-workers now on strike throughout tlio Dominion, and urgeß all fellow-membors to cease work on receipt I of information that cargo is being handled by. free labour.
