THE GORSE PROBLEM.
A correspondent, Mr. Chas. Lett, forwards what he claims to bo a simple and effective way of getting rid of gorse, which he states he has proved in all classes of ground. Mr. Lett's method is to take a knife and strip the bark off tho four or five inches up the stem — say, from one inch below the surface. The operator must be sure to perform tho stripping thoroughly, and he will, it is stated, soon have the pleasure of seeing tho bush dead. The present time, when tho gorse is in flowor, is said to bo the best for the operation.
