NO RAILWAY STRIKE.
MEN LOYAL TO DEPARTMENT. It has been suggested that .if the strike spreads the railway' servants will refuse to carry special constables and free labourers. Thero seems, however, to be no foundation for such rumours. Tho ■ Department stated yesterday that tho men wore absolutely loyal, and would take no part in the struggle. Mr. R. M'Villy (chief clerk of the Department) stated that a close watch was being maintained on all lines, and tho publicnced have no fears as to the safety of travelling, dospito ' tho wild rumouTS of the past fow days.
