TO 'ASSIST THE STRIKERS. The Wellington Housewives' Union held a meeting yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Donaldson presiding. That lady explained that the union desired to' do all they could to assist tho watersiders now on strike, by any means within their power, and set up a special oommittee, tho duties of which shall be to inquire into all oases of distress, and assist sufferers to the fullest extent of their powers.
