SLOW TRAINS.
ON THE NAPIER LINE. Mr. G. Hunter, M.P., made another appeal recently to the Minister of Railways (tile Hoii. AV. H. Herries) to put an improved railway-, iseryico on the Napier line. He asked tire Minister " Whether he would' arrange that the new time-table giving an improved service between Wellington and Napier would eomo into force in time for tho Christinas holidays? " Tlie Hon, AV. H. Herries (Minister of Railways) replied; "The quest-ion is low undor consideration, The .congestion ou the North Island Main Trunk Lino-, : which 'in the/next few months will be caused by the trains put on to servo those attending the Auckland Exhibition, will precludo any alteration being mado this year. I hope, however, as Soon as the extra traffic is over,, to effect substantial, improvements in ths, train-running on the AVellington-Napiefr line."
