FOR MIRAMAR. 'A by-election was held yesterday to fill a vacancy oil the Miramar Borough Council caused by tho resignation of Councillor Telford. There wore two nominations only, and tiro result was as follows; — Dr, Edith Huntloy 08 ' Albert. EL Griffiths ......... GO Tiiis is .the first occasion for many years' 011 which a My candidate has been returned for ii seat 011 a borough council in the vicinity of Wellington. Dr. Editlr Huntley, who is well kiiow'n in Wellington, is connected with the staff of the- Lahmanji Health Home, at Miramar North.
