_ Captain Malpapine, of New York, who < is walking round tho world for a wager, called at the Mansion House recently* -and gavo a narrativo of his journey to Alderman Sir John Knill, tho acting-Lord Mayor of Loudon. He said ho had traversed North and South America, Australasia, and Africa, and was then on his way to John o' Groats, whenco ho intended to cross to Ireland, and that he would * then proceed across tho Continent and 1 Asia. The walk would bo completed when J ho arrived at Bombay. In reply to Sir < .Tohn Knill's inquiries, ho stated that on < ouo occasion he was attacked by a lion, and on one oceasioii was for somo days without food in tho desert. The walk, ho added, begnn in January, 1910, and was to end ill March, 15)1U. Captain Malpagano produced books containing the records of his journey, and said it was his intention to present a copy to tho British ' Museum.
