FORM AT TRENTHAM.
THE FINAL GALLOPS. A night'a heavy rain left going on the heavy side for the winding up gallops at Trentham yesterday. Despite tlie weather several motor loads of track watchers turned out to see the work which, on the whole, was very interesting. Several of the big handicap horses wore galloped and, once again, the best performance of the morning was credited to Kilrain. Mr. Riddiford|s horse, who is very well, galloped fix furlongs with Mira, whom he badly defeated in lmin. 20sec. This gallop was done on the trial grass, which was probably a trifle faster than the courso proper. Another gallop of importance was reKifitered by Emnarador and Bronze.
This was over a mile on -the course proper, and Mason's horse beat the riigUden mare by several lengths, in lmin. 52sec. undecidcd staited olf with tho pair,.but was pulled up at tho bottom otjthe course, as his rider had lost his irons. Cheddar and Sea Pmk covered a milo in lmin. 62sec. Both horses wont well. Byron and Passadena ran seven furlongs at top speed. They finished together, and tho last six furlongs took lmin. 22sec. l'assadena seemed to be going better than her companion. Imagination was given strong work over six : furlongs, and a similar task was apportioned Ceylon. Tho Hague had Soltano beaten from tho jump off over a mile. The crack colt was quite unable to act in the going, .and was being hard ridden before they had gone a furlong. Of the sprinters nothing went better than Beldame, who beat the Wellesley Stake candidate. Chime, and the Varco colt over four furlongs in Sljsec. Mount Victoria, who revels in the mud, was given strong work, ond wanted to increase the paoe Crown Pea/rl prevailed over Royal Arms in a half-mile flutter. The time was 63sec. Potoa, on the outside, beat Awalau over six furlongs. Ermengarde and Bertrada ran five furlongs down the back, and the former easily disposed of her stable companion. ' Patronale, going alone, ran half a mile in 55sec. The roan gelding looks very well. Altoar and Gipsy Belle both strode along at a nice pace. Suratura went half a mile alone, the last three furlongs taking 37Jsec. Toa Tere worked by himself, and moved smartly over six furlongs. Princess Flo was going easily along side Katua at the end of half a mile. This distance was covered in 52isec. Secret Link was worked alone, and ran the last four or five furlongs in o2isec. Th,o black mare Mouette was well clear of Ngarua at the end of a five furlongs brush. The two-year-olds 'Reputation (DeeIcy), Pariform (Bell), Consultation (H. Lowe), and Martian Princess (Berry), were associated over three and a'halt furlongs. Tho last threo furlongs were left behind in 39 1-oses Martian Princess was clear of her companions as they raced past the post. Hyettus, who appears to be of a wild nature, was led on a hack. Charmilla and Gold Spray separately ran tnree furlongs in 4UJsee. Football had Culprit for a companion over half a mile. Castalia was spurted down the straight, and Roumania performed a like task. J, W. Lowe's fillies from Monarda, Vologda and Pearce,' weier sprinted a couple' of furlongs, and his colts by Marble Arch and Penury also sprinted. Useful tasks wore done by the Karamu team, which consists of Bollin, Witdhod, Hymettius, Hyettus, Haskayne, Altcar, Day Fly, Anguish, 800, , tie, and Peary. The jumpers Ingenkender and Makiri were schooled over the big fences in oompany, but tho latter got rid of his rider. Himitangi gave a pleasing display alone. Other horses which did useful work were Ladoga, Los Angelos, Styx, Toione, Charlerose, Rewipoto, Dearest, La Reina, Bleriot, George, Grit Lawless, Elevated, Otakura, Adroit, Hanswra, Parky, Dithyramb, Melpomene, Hoopoe, Salado, and Merry Guy. A further payment for tho New Zealand Cup, acceptances for the Stewards' Handicap, and general entries for the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting, are duo to-night. First (forfeits -must be deolarea by to-morrow for tho Welcome Stakes, Oaks, and Derby. The attractive programme of the Marlborough Meeting, nominations for which close on Monday next, is expected to result in a large entry being received.
