The most interesting occurrence was tho start mado at midday to lift the horses from the roiiie, the operation beihg witnessed 1$ a large crowd, the majority whom were, strikers, No indication Was tjiven of', any feeling other than the curiosity of tho five horses that were being brought to the top. Some of these horses have not seen tho light of day for over a year. It took'tho animals some time to become acquainted'with their now en-, virontnent, and their eyes had to bo, bandaged Until they had become accustomed to tho unwonted sunlight. . This morning two truckers of the small group who. lmvo been going to work failed to put in. an uppearaneo when the whistle sounded. One of them was tho object of 6omo good-natured chaff as ho Went home from work last night. Both men may bo regarded as scalps to' the pickets. Mr. R. Semplo addressed tho Huntly strikers this afternoon. It is understood that he'explained that he 6poke as a private individual, and not as an official of the United Federation of La* bour. He said he Was sure, though,, that the federation was .with, them, and would take up their cause. He advised them to fix things up with the_company peaceably if possible.
