TRAFALGAR DAY,
NAVY LEAGUE BANQUET IN LONDON. By Telegraph—Preta Association-Copyright London, October "1. There was a great gathering at the Navy League's banquet in honour of Trafalgar Day. Tlio Earl of Selhorne proposed tlio toast of "Tlio Immortal Memory of Nelson," and Lord Brassey "The Imperial Forces." To tlio latter toast Captain Muirhead Collins (private secretary to the High Commissioner for Australia) and Major Sir Thomas Robinson (AgentGeneral for Queensland) responded. Lord Sydenham, one-time Governor of Victoria and later of Bombay, proposed "The Dominions." The Hon. Thomas Mackenzie (High Commissioner for Now Zealand) and Mr. M'Bride (Victorian Minister for Mines) replied. Tho Agents-General and their wives were present at tho banquet. The. wreaths on the Nelson Column included tributes from tho Australian and New Zealand Navy Leagues, and tlio •Australian Navy. tN AUSTRALIA. GREETINGS FROM LORD KITCHENER. Melbourne, October 22. There was an enthusiastic celebration of Trafalgar Day at tho Town Hall. Sir George Rejd, High Commissioner in London for tho Australian Commonwealth, delivered the following message to Australia from Field-Marshal Lord Kitchener, British Agent in Egypt:—"! have been watching carefully, your military achievements since I left, and an more than ploased. lam dolighted that you are evolving a sound military system." Sydney, October 22. Trafalgar Day was celebrated quietly. Bunting was displayed in various places. There was it patriotic concert in the evening, and the Australian naval moil hold a "social."
