APPOINTMENT TO SOUTH AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press ieaociatlon—Oopyrlghl London, October 14. It is officially announced that Lieu-tenant-Colonel Sir Henry Lionel Galwav has beon appointed Governor of South Australia, in succession to Sir Henry Barron.
Sir Henry Galway, D.5.0., 'has been Governor of the Gambia since 1911. He is a son of the late Lieutenant-Genoral Sir T. C. Gallwey, but assumed tho present surname insteadof Gallwey in 1911. Ho saw a good deal of sorvico in the Benin country, acted as chief political ■ officer to the Aro expedition, and was present in several minor operations against the natives in tho Protectorate. Ho has ocoupied several Civil positions in Nigeria. From 1902 to 1911 he was Governor of St. Helena.
