It has been'suggested that if the Imperial Government dpos not agrco to summon a Defence Conference, the Commonwealth Should ondeavotir to secure a meeting of tho representatives of the Dominions specially interest-ed 'in the defence of the Pacific, Vancouver being the likely meeting place. * It is pointed out that Bnch n proceeding might force the bands of the Imperial authorities, and result in a conference being held in Loudon after all.
