REPORT OP INQUIRY COMMITTEE.

London, October 15. iihe first portion of the report of Mr. Acland's Land Inquiry Committee has been issued. Its chief recommendations aro: (a) wages boards ; (b) a. fixed statutory minimum wage for agricultural labourers; (c) land courts for tho readjustment, of rents ; (d) extension of small holdings by giving land courts power to fix a reasonable purchaso prico; (e) Stato sinking fund for tho purchase of land; (f) tho repeal of the Gamo Law restrictions; (g) special taxation of land used for sport.
Tho report declares that 120,000 now cottages aro required. Rural councils should compel owners' to make adequate provision for cottages.
